When I woke up on Friday morning I started reading on Twitter about the release of the Nike Foamposite Galaxy in Orlando. I had gone absolute pear-shaped down there! There were riot police, police helicopters and over 3000 people waiting outside the mall for their chance to get a pair of Galaxy’s. DJ Clark Kent tweeted about the chaos down there and people were going mental on Twitter. Is this sane? Is Nike in the wrong? What is happening to the sneaker game etc etc etc.

The release of the shoe was cancelled by the police due to the chaos.

 

Anyways, after reading on Twitter I read the listings on Ebay and the prices were absolutely insane! A size 10 of the Galaxy’s was going for over 50.000 dollars, with a few hours left. At 9 pm this Foamposite listing ended at over $90.000.

90.000 dollars for a pair of shoes? Really?

This is todays listings. The most expensive one listed at 50.000 dollars.


And my friends call me crazy...

Hype!!!

Seriously? $2.500 for a pair of foams?

I know I’m going to draw a lot a heat here, but in my opinion Nike Foamposites are probably the ugliest Nike sneaker out there. I can’t understand why they’re so popular in the States. In Europe, well let’s narrow it down to Sweden, I haven’t seen a single person wearing them, but in Brooklyn, NY they seem to be all over the place.

Anyways, this weekend Nike is dropping the Nike Foamposite Galaxy which has already caused a lot of hype on the internet. They are pre-selling for over $2.000 (which is just insane!).

Stockholm-based sneaker spot Caliroots is letting their customers pre-book this shoe in-store tomorrow morning. The price in Swedish crowns is 2500 kr ($360) and the queue is probably going to be insane.
